Board of Directors
The activities of the Passion Play are directed by the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers who comprise the Society's Board of Directors.
John Bruins – President
John has enjoyed a long and varied career in radio and television since beginning as Chief Engineer at CJDV in Drumheller. During the years there, John also worked with the CBC, Calgary Television and CFCN-TV services for Drumheller and Hand Hills. He accepted the job of Chief Engineer at CFCN Radio Calgary and continued on his radio engineering path. There has never been a dull moment - from building new radio stations to re-building others – to a television research project and a long career in sports broadcasting – to being described as “a leader in the industry,” it’s all been fun. He has done everything from being elected president of a national association, (Western Association of Broadcast Engineers) to lobbying Ottawa and industry on selecting a digital radio system for Canada. John then ventured into a television research project, CellularVision. It was a real challenge and lots of fun finding out how television signals would travel at ultra high frequencies. He has contributed many articles to broadcast industry magazines over the years. As a result of his work in the broadcast industry, John has received several awards.
Rev. Lloyd Huber - Vice President
Lloyd recently retired from active ministry in the Lutheran Church. He graduated in 1968 from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. with a Master of Theology degree, and for the last 40 years has served congregations in Ft. Saskatchewan, Hinton, Jasper, Grande Cache, Calgary, and for the last 17 years, Grace Lutheran Church in Drumheller. Since its inception he has served on the Bd. Of Directors and as chairman of the script committee for the Passion Play, and has considered working with the Passion Play an important element in both his ministry and that of Grace Lutheran Church, of which many members have been actively involved. “It is both a privilege and a great joy to work with so many gifted committed people telling the good news of God’s love in Christ in such an exciting and powerful way.”
